We stopped here for a couple of nights while hiking in the Dolomites. The hike itself was great for viewing wildflowers and many interesting insects. The inn has a lovely homey atmosphere. Despite our limited Italian and the host's limited …
You can get to this rifugio by car and make walks from there which was convenient with the children. It offers a great playground so this is definitely a place for families. The rifugio is comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms clean. The dinner was very good with a lovely ragu pasta and a good goulash. The team was attentive and super friendly, the chef even invited us to the kitchen to see the ragu cooking.
Amazing place high in de mountains. Beautiful decorated in and outside with wooden sculptures. Starting or passing points for various (multi day) hiking tours. From Domegge di Cadore the road is narrow and winding. Doable by car though. From 09.30 to 14.00 only allowed to go up. From 14.00 to 16.30 only going down. The other hours are both ways. There are spots were you can pass another car
The place is really nice surrounded by the mountains and nature. The stuff and service were great, and food amazing.
Friendly family that runs it. You cannot pay with card unfortunately and we really wanted to have a coffee!
One of the most beautiful "Rifugio" of the Dolomites. The place, the food and the owners are amazing!
Beautiful refuge and beautiful view! I was there in the summer, super friendly staff and really excellent cuisine with local products! You can reach the refuge either on foot or by car, but respect the timetables as the road becomes one-way! The refuge, the starting point for various excursions, enjoys a beautiful view, but also a vast green area where you can relax after a trek.
The refuge is located in a valley under the Toro stands. It can also be reached by car, as long as it is a 4x4 or off-road vehicle. However, I recommend getting in the car up to the start of the path or at least up to the Cercena' dairy. The path is well indicated, wide, goes up quietly and is also excellent for children, it runs alongside the river for a stretch and then enters the woods. The refuge appears unexpectedly after about 50 minutes, with its red roof, surrounded by a lawn with games, sculptures and wooden houses. It seems like an enchanted place, everything is very well looked after, tidy and clean. The managers are very hospitable. I didn't taste the cuisine, but the menu was inviting. I only had a textbook panna cotta with berries. The premises are welcoming and I would like to return this autumn to enjoy the colors of the beech forest and the warmth of the stube. In winter it must be even more beautiful. Highly recommended
My family and I have been for lunch three times this summer. Mrs. Barbara is uniquely courteous and pleases you in every way if she can. Lunches with excellent food. Beautiful location with a large "lawn" for children (also games) to enjoy. Stunning panorama and various paths available.
